Lemon Trees and Bumblebees Diane Sherrouse
This is a magnificent book providing scientific facts in an entertaining way which children can understand. They (and their parents and teachers) will be naturally attracted to the beautiful illustrations. After reading this book children will be encouraged to explore the outdoors and observe many flowers of various kinds which are pollinated by bumblebees. At the same time they will notice that there are other kinds of bees which pollinate flowers to produce fruits, nuts, and vegetables. What a wonderful way to introduce children to nature! One note about the format: Because I have a Kindle, not an iPad, I would not have been able to view the illustrations in color. Therefore, I downloaded the free app for Windows at the Kindle site on Amazon, purchased the book, had it sent to my Kindle, and then found the book in "archived items" by clicking the Kindle icon on my desktop. The whole process took five minutes, and my grandchildren are now able to enjoy this beautiful book in full color on my computer. Magic!

Lemon Trees and Bumblebees Diane Sherrouse Reviews
This imaginative, yet scientifically accurate, depiction of the science of pollination is clever and should delight readers of all ages, as required of any good children's book. LEMON TREES AND BUMBLEBEES comes alive for young readers with Blair Sampson's illustrations and Diane Sherrouse's lyrical text for example, its references to the "magic" of pollination, to the "dance" of the flowers, even to "buried treasure," as well as its onomatopoetic diction like "glub" and "slurp." The author takes the book a step further by includung child friendly recipes for lemonade and peanut butter chocolate bumblebees. Teachers or parents, on the other hand, can use the more detailed explanation of the science of pollination for their own enjoyment or to enable them to answer questions and promote discussion. The glossary also provides a valuable aid to readers. A MUST READ for children.
Lemon Trees and Bumblebees by Diane Sherrouse is a splendid book for teaching children about the magic of pollination. All though the book uses scientific facts to explain pollination it is done in such a way that young readers can easily grasp the concept.
Children will gain a better understanding of the important job bees have in our world. Many children are afraid of bees and with the help of Lemon Trees and Bumblebees they will be able to appreciate and accept their presence.
Lemon Trees and Bumblebees is also an excellent resource for teachers to enhance learning. The glossary at the end of the story is also helpful.
The book includes a couple of fun recipes for parents and children. In fact I picked up lemons today so we could make lemonade!
I recommend reading Lemon Trees and Bumblebees.
